Size Chart
Happyology 3D fitting mannequins in a range of children's sizes

Every Happyology piece is checked on 3D fitting mannequins through design, pattern-cutting and production, so it sits comfortably and moves with your child. Use the charts below to find the right size.

Sized ‘up to’

Each size fits up to the age and height shown. A size 18M fits a child up to 18 months old or 86 cm tall.

Between sizes?

Choose the larger size, so your little one can wear it for longer.

Body measurements

Every chart shows your child’s measurements, not the garment’s.

Clothing

Our clothing runs from 6 months to 14 years. Height is the most reliable guide, especially as children get older.

6M 68 cm 7.5 kg
9M 76 cm —
12M 80 cm 9.5 kg

2Y 92 cm 12.5 kg

8Y / 9Y 130 cm
10Y / 11Y 140 cm
12Y / 13Y 150 cm
14Y 160 cm

Some styles are labelled 8Y, 10Y and 12Y, and others 9Y, 11Y and 13Y. Each pair is cut for the same height, so choose by your child’s height rather than their age.

Hats

Hat sizes vary by style. Measure around your child’s head, then find the size shown on the product page in the card for that style.

How to measure

Height

Stand your child barefoot against a wall, heels together and looking straight ahead. Lay a book flat on top of their head, mark where it meets the wall, then measure from the floor to the mark. For babies, measure lying down, from the top of the head to the heels.

Head

Wrap a soft tape measure around the widest part of the head: across the forehead just above the eyebrows, over the tops of the ears and round the back. Keep it snug but not tight.

All measurements are body measurements, not garment measurements. Still not sure? Get in touch and we’ll help you choose.

Duties, taxes and customs

We pay all import duties and taxes on your behalf, in every country we ship to. Your order arrives with nothing left to pay. There is no customs invoice waiting for you and no charge on the doorstep.

Very occasionally a carrier passes a charge on in error. If that happens, email us at customer@happyology.co.uk with a copy of the receipt and we will reimburse you in full.

Tracking your order

You will receive a confirmation email as soon as your order is placed, and a second email with your DHL Express tracking number the moment your parcel leaves us. Every order is tracked door to door.

Where your order ships from

We hold stock in the United Kingdom, Singapore and China. Your order will be sent from whichever warehouse can fulfil it soonest, which is usually the one nearest you. If an order is split across warehouses you may receive more than one parcel and more than one tracking number, at no extra cost to you.

Changes to your order

Once an order is placed we are not able to amend or cancel it, so please do check your size, colour and delivery address carefully before you check out. If something is wrong, email us straight away at customer@happyology.co.uk and we will do what we can before the parcel is picked.

If a parcel cannot be delivered

DHL will attempt delivery and, where needed, leave instructions for collection. A parcel that comes back to us because delivery was refused, collection was missed, or the address was incomplete or incorrect will be refunded less the original delivery cost and a £30 return to sender handling fee. This covers the charges the carrier passes on to us for the return leg, and we would much rather avoid it, so please make sure your address and phone number are right at checkout.

Returns and exchanges

We accept returns within 14 calendar days of delivery. We are not able to exchange directly, so if you need a different size or colour, please return the original for a refund and place a new order. Full instructions and eligibility are on our returns page.

Any questions

We are a small team and we read every message. Email customer@happyology.co.uk or use our contact form and we will come back to you.

Care Instructions

All Happyology garments are lovingly made to the highest standards. With the right care, they can be treasured for years to come.

As a simple rule of thumb: hand washing in cold or lukewarm water will always extend the life of your garments. If life gets busy, many pieces are machine washable at or below 30°C with similar colours. Always refer to the care label.

Cashmere

Cashmere is an exquisitely soft and delicate fibre with natural loft and crimp. It deserves extra care and attention.

Hand Wash
  • Turn garments inside-out
  • Gently hand wash in lukewarm water (max 30°C) with a wool detergent
  • Soak for 5 minutes, gently squeeze (never rub or twist), then rinse in warm water followed by cold water
  • Optional: add a small amount of fabric softener
  • Remove excess water by pressing between clean towels or using a short machine spin — never wring!
  • Reshape while damp and dry flat on a towel, away from direct sunlight or heat
Dry Clean
  • Dry clean sparingly (about once per season) to avoid fibre damage or a glazed appearance
  • Never bleach
Storing
  • Always wash before seasonal storage
  • Store folded with cedar blocks or lavender sachets to deter moths
Wool / Merino Wool

Merino wool is naturally antibacterial and slightly more robust than cashmere, so it requires less frequent washing.

Hand Wash
  • Follow the same steps as for cashmere
Machine Wash
  • Only if the care label permits
  • Use a delicate/wool cycle at 30°C with wool detergent
Dry Clean
  • Only occasionally; over-dry cleaning can damage fibres
Storing
  • Wash before storing
  • Keep folded with cedar or lavender for moth protection
Organic Cotton

We use the finest organic cotton for our basics and jersey pieces. It’s strong, silky and naturally breathable.

Hand Wash
  • Use cool to warm water (never hot) to avoid shrinking or fading
  • Avoid fabric softener as it can dull the fabric’s finish
Machine Wash
  • Wash on a cool cycle (30°C or below) with similar colours
  • Do not use fabric softener
  • Remove promptly to reduce creasing
Drying & Ironing
  • Air-dry or tumble dry on low heat
  • Reshape while damp to avoid ironing, or follow care label if ironing is needed
Storing
  • Hang where possible, or fold neatly in a breathable, dust-free space
  • Use cotton garment bags for long-term storage
Linen

We adore linen for its light, luxurious texture and effortless charm. Its natural creases are part of its character.

Hand Wash
  • Especially recommended for embroidered pieces
  • Soak in warm water with mild detergent (up to 2 hours)
  • Rinse thoroughly, gently squeeze out water, and reshape
Machine Wash
  • Use a low-medium temperature
  • Wash similar colours together
  • Avoid overloading the machine to reduce creasing
  • Remove promptly, straighten and gently stretch to shape
Drying
  • Air-dry flat or on a line
  • Avoid tumble drying (high heat may cause shrinkage and permanent creasing)
Ironing
  • Iron while slightly damp on high heat for a crisp finish
  • Use a pressing cloth and iron from the reverse side to protect embroidery
Storing
  • Store in a cool, dry place, folded or hung
  • Avoid plastic bags or cardboard boxes
  • Linen is naturally insect-resistant; simply air or refresh when needed
Final Tips
  • Always read your garment’s care label first — it’s there for a reason
  • Wash less often: airing garments out can refresh them without washing
  • Handle embroidery and embellishments with extra care
  • Love your clothes, and they’ll last beautifully
